Two teams tied with a total score of 420 points. The two Johns Redmayne and Kynaston being the victors over Nigel Thomas and Ian Hunt by virtue of being a few minutes faster over the 2 days. Mixed team winners were Alan & Margaret Huyton with 370 points. It was disappointment though for overnight leaders John & Christine Preston who lost their advantage by being late on the second day, yet despite heavy penalties still totalled 338 points.

Ladies winners were Di Hickman and Julie Ferris although there was no opposition in the form of another ladies team revelled in the atmosphere and amassed a creditable 200 points.

Two Klets (solo) teams competed and the winner was Pete Fenlon who built up an impressive 320 points – not bad considering no partner to share the heavy items with!

Each category winner won a prize and the Overall winners and Ladies teams took home the traditional trophies. Amid the competitiveness and to continue the light hearted element of the weekend, a special prize of energy drinks was awarded to Brett Weeden and John Dennis as they were judged to be the teams who most needed it!

Well done. Thanks for organising a really good weekend's excursion. See you again sometime - next year perhaps. Thanks again, David Vaughan & Adrian Jenkins

Thanks for an excellent weekend, you really did a great job with the course planning and organisation and even had veggie food at the finish - a dream come true!! John Redmayne & John Kynaston

It was a great weekend, despite the weather on Saturday night! The course was really good and sufficiently challenging, we were certainly surprised to finish as high as we did. Nigel Thomas & Ian Hunt

I still hobble about the office without shoes on because of the blisters - for a while on Saturday they were blisters but now are just holes in my heels. Thanks for organising the event, it was great to have a proper start and finish point and even better to have the Hostel on the Saturday. We will have to improve our navigation and route choice though - no more late finishes! Ian Law & Richard Henderson

Thanks very much for organising the Mountain Navigation Challenge. Whilst John and I didn't perform particularly well (an understatement!!!) the whole weekend was brilliant. We both organise various fell races and events and do appreciate how much work you and your families must have put into the Weekend. I think perhaps you should start organising events like that on a full time basis!!!! Once again, many thanks Brett Weeden & John Dennis

Team 5 - Winners of the much needed energy drink prize. The feel-good factor is incomprehensible - aching knees Vs a 'fatigue' induced 'high'. Why? - I can't explain. much fun and torture dragging our 'well-I-tried-to-reduce-it-but -I-can't- sleep-without- my-pyjamas' kit wherever you send us.Thanks lads. Di Hickman & Julie Ferris
